This “job” is different than any other you’ll have in your lifetime. It’s so RARE to have so many passionate young adults who love the Lord and want to pour that passion into kids. At Camp Sonshine, you get to do that with people who you soon call family.
We emphasize and encourage being a community of people who do life together during and outside of the camp day!
Weekends
Guess what! That’s right! You get time off! Day Camp Counselors have time off Saturday afternoon – Sunday and Overnight Camp Counselors have Saturday – Sunday afternoon off!
Staff Outings
Camp Sonshine hosts a number of weekend outings throughout the summer for staff to relax and enjoy each other’s company. Outings may include but are not limited to local baseball games, trampoline parks, free ice cream, movie nights, pool parties, and the Aerial Park at Camp Solaris!
Family Style Dinners
Whether you’re at Day Camp (with staff) or Overnight Camp (with campers), dinners are served family style to encourage relationship building and team development.
Host Homes & Roommates
During the summer, you could live on-site housing or at a host home with at least 1 roommate. In camp housing, you’d live on one of our three sites! At Host Homes, the family members are close friends of Camp Sonshine and provide you and your roommate(s) with a home for the summer! Both options have been loved by past staff members!
Your roommate(s) are the ones you will get to know on a deeper level, pray with, share your ideas with, and make ice cream runs with.
