Hear From Past Interns

“The Camp Sonshine internship experience was a great opportunity for learning and growing. I was able to grow in my faith, my work habits, my people skills, and so much more. I got to learn about the ins and outs of camp ministry and learned more about myself as well. The internship was a wonderful opportunity and I would highly recommend it to anyone that’s interested!”

Riley

During her time as a year one intern, Riley served in staff recruitment, programming and marketing. She helped hire and onboard 90+ staff, managed creating content for communication, and lead our Assistant Counselor program in the summer!

“My internship experience was a cool way to dive deeper into camp and our core values. It’s really fun to reflect on your own experiences at camp and use that as a way to prep for the next summer. You get to paint a picture of what new potential staff could get out of the experience. The best part for me was preparing schedules and programming for summer. Working to make all those things even better and knowing that preparation will be made good on in the summer. I also learned how to work in an office, how to communicate and advocate for a cause to donors and volunteers – all things I apply now working at nonprofits!”

Andrea

During her time as a year one intern, Andrea served as a recruiter, programmer, and grant writer! In the summer, she oversaw Assistant Counselor training and the A.C. Program and aerial park at Solaris. Andrea now works at a Christian nonprofit organization in Virginia onboarding and training their staff!
