Journey,  3-Night Program, 3rd – 6th Grade

Monday

9:30 Arrival – A high energy welcome to camp.  Many nerves will be put to rest as you meet your counselor, your group and connect with both old & new friends
10:15 Opening Assembly – Fun and games in our Arkk, to not only introduce our staff, but to give everyone a picture into how much fun the week is going to be!
11:00 Dorm Living & Move In – Campers will learn expectations to ensure that everyone has a fun & safe week and always appreciate knowing that their space and belongings will be respected by all.

Noon

Dinner around 6:00

Lunch

Activity Rotations: Monday includes rotating through some of our classic activities (Archery, Sling Shots, Sports, Snack Shack, etc.) and a Solaris favorite, Archery Tag!

7:00

Evening Activities:

  • WAVE Games – These wild and active games provide friendly competition between WAVE teams and allows campers to meet additional friends. Always a camp favorite. WAVE stands for Wild and Active to the Very End!
  • Chapel – During Chapel, campers get the opportunity to learn about who God is and experience worship at camp!
  • Facetime Around the Fire – Gathering around an outdoor always brings people together. We use this time as an intentional time to get to know the stories of our staff members and how they have seen God in their lives. And no campfire would be complete without  s’mores!
9:00 – 10:00 Night Time in the Cabin – Every night, our goal is to calmly transition our campers into getting ready to sleep. This includes a time to close the day as a group, an opportunity for the campers to shower/brush their teeth/etc., and usually ends with a song or story from their counselor!

Tuesday

7:20 Wake-up – Rise and shine for a new day of wonder and adventure.
8:00 Breakfast – Fun fuel, in the form of cereal, toast, oatmeal, fruit, pancakes and other fast-breaking favorites.
8:30 J.A.M. (Jesus And Me) – In a fast paced world, we all could use some quiet to ponder the deeper parts of who we are.  This time of space is loved by all regardless of spiritual background. We always end Jam time in a group discussion led by the group’s counselor for the week.

9:30

Assembly – Energy infused craziness! We kick off the day with a dance party, complete with games, songs, and even a counselor-led skit!

10:00

Lunch around noon

Dinner around 5:00

Activity Rotations:

  • 3rd-4th: Tuesday is Open Choice day! Campers have a long rotation to choose which activity they would like to attend, led by a staff member. Then all groups get a turn on our inflatable water slide!
  • 5th-6th: Tuesdays are Pond days and Woods days! Groups get a chance to spend a day swimming in our pond and rotations of outdoor learning experiences, including cooking a snack over a fire they made themselves!

  • Chapel
  • WAVE Games
  • Game Night – All of camp gather in our multipurpose building to play a game together!

Wednesday

7:20 Wake up / Breakfast / J.A.M. / Assembly

Activity Rotations:

  • 3rd-4th: Wednesdays are Pond days and Woods days! Groups get a chance to spend a day swimming in our pond and rotations of outdoor learning experiences, including cooking a snack over a fire they made themselves!
  • 5th-6th: Wednesday is Open Choice day! Campers have a long rotation to choose which activity they would like to attend, led by a staff member. Then all groups get a turn on our inflatable water slide!

Evening Activities:

  • Facetime Around the Fire
  • Group Closure – Being the last night spent at camp as a group, our counselors set aside a special time to close the week together!
  • Glow Games – Everyone dresses in neon and gets to have a glowing game adventure!

Thursday

7:20 Wake up / Breakfast / J.A.M. / Assembly

Last Day Activities:

  • All of Camp – The last day gives time for every group to rotate through popular camp activities, and one last Open Choice Time.
  • WAVE Game – Last one of the week!
4:15 Cabin Pack Up – Each cabin packers up all of their things and cleans their room in preparation for leaving soon!
5:30 Dinner
6:30

Dessert and Departure – The whole family is invited to come out to Solaris to greet their camper, get a glimpse of the fun they had during the week, and enjoy a sweet treat on us. This is also a time for goodbye’s, but hopefully we’ll see you next summer!

Expedition, 5-Night Program, 5th – 9th Grade

  • Expedition: Mondays include time on the water with our kayaks, fishing poles, and stand-up paddle boards. There is also time for everyone on our inflatable water slides, as well as the ever popular low element Challenge Course.

  • Game Night – We start the evening with a fun large group game, then transition into outdoor night game for Journey and an indoor glow game adventure for Expedition!

  • Expedition: Tuesday is Open Choice day! Campers have a long rotation to choose which activity they would like to attend, led by a staff member. Then all groups get to play a Solaris favorite, Archery Tag!

9:30 Assembly – Energy infused craziness! We kick off the day with a dance party, complete with games, songs, and even a counselor-led skit!

Activity Rotations:

  • Journey: Monday includes rotating through some of our classic activities (Archery, Sling Shots, Sports, Snack Shack, etc.) and our high flying ropes course adventure, the Aerial Park!
  • Expedition: EXCURSION DAY! Our older campers get the opportunity to take a trip to an outdoor destination filled with off-site fun. It usually ends in picking up a sweet snack for everyone!

Evening Activities:

  • WAVE Olympics – The culmination of a week of WAVE games! Starting with an opening ceremony, the WAVE teams compete in various relay style games for their last shot at WAVE Game glory!
  • Facetime Around the Fire: See Sunday Night for Description
  • Group Closure – Being the last night spent at camp as a group, our counselors set aside a special time to close the week together!
  • Game Night – We switch places from the other night where we have an outdoor night game for Expedition and an indoor glow game adventure for Journey!
