Bus Drop Off & Pick Up Process
CHECK IN / CHECK OUT: For the safety of our campers and staff, we ask that a parent/guardian walk their camper to the bus to check in and walk to the bus to check out camper.
PARENT PICK UP CARD: At check out, you must show a parent pick up card.
TIMING: Buses are slotted to be at the bus stop for ten minutes. We do everything in our power to arrive on time and leave on time. Due to traffic, weather, and circumstances beyond our control, buses may arrive before or after the estimated time.
RUNNING LATE? : If you are running late, please either move on to the next stop on your child’s bus stop route or plan to drive to camp. We are unable to delay the bus route as it interferes with the camp day.

What's the ride like?
The bus ride to and from Camp Sonshine are just an extension of our programming. We have bus counselors and assistants on the bus who are there to provide fun and supervision for the campers on the bus. Campers will enjoy many things including but not limited to sitting assembly songs, story chain, rock/paper/scissors tournament, would you rather, 20 questions, and much more! We hear that campers love their bus counselors just as much as their at-camp counselors!
How do you ensure children get on the right bus at the end of the day?
To ensure every child gets on the correct bus at the end of the day, we rely on the information provided during registration. Parents are responsible for selecting the correct transportation option, and our team will follow that information to guide campers to the right bus. Our counselors use a detailed check-in system, including attendance lists and visual verification, to make sure each camper boards the correct bus safely. If any changes to transportation need to be made, please notify us in advance so we can update our records accordingly.
Can I change my child’s pick-up/drop-off location after camp starts?
Yes, you can request a change to your child’s pick-up or drop-off location, but all changes must be submitted by 2 p.m. on the day of the change to ensure our team has enough time to update schedules and notify the necessary staff. Please contact our office directly to make any adjustments.
